lipton bruceMonday, January 28, 7pm EST:  Mitchell’s guest this evening is world-renowned cellular biologist Dr. Bruce Lipton. Bruce is an internationally recognized leader in bridging science and spirit. Stem cell biologist, best-selling author of The Biology of Belief and recipient of the 2009 Goi Peace Award, he has been a guest speaker on hundreds of TV and radio shows, as well as keynote presenter for national and international conferences. He has been a guest speaker on hundreds of TV and radio shows, as well as keynote presenter for national and lipton biology of beliefinternational conferences.

This evening, we will discuss the basic idea of epigenetics and how it profoundly, radically, pivots away from conventional medical understanding and yet has a sound scientific and commonsense base to it.  We will also discuss what is happening planetarily and societally from an ecological, consciousness and evolutionary perspective.

Purchase Dr. Bruce Lipton’s books & CD’s.

Dr. Lipton began his scientific career as a cell biologist. He received his Ph.D. Degree from the University of Virginia at Charlottesville before joining the Department of Anatomy at the University of Wisconsin’s School of Medicine in 1973. Dr. Lipton’s research on muscular dystrophy, studies employing cloned human stem cells, focused upon the molecular mechanisms controlling cell behavior. An experimental tissue transplantation technique developed by Dr. Lipton and colleague Dr. Ed Schultz and published in the journal Science was subsequently employed as a novel form of human genetic engineering. In 1982, Dr. Lipton began examining the principles of quantum physics and how they might be integrated into his understanding of the cell’s information processing systems. He produced breakthrough studies on the cell membrane, which revealed that this outer layer of the cell was an organic homologue of a computer chip, the cell’s equivalent of a brain. His research at Stanford University’s School of Medicine,  Bruce was a guest on A Better World TV originally in 1994 when relatively few knew of his work.  Bruce and Mitchell have been good friends ever since.  Dr. Lipton has been a guest on A Better World Radio & TV numerous times since then and is on at least once per year.

2nd Interview of the Week:

peng robertWednesday, Jan. 30, 6pm:  Mitchell’s guest this evening is Robert Peng, a world-renowned Qigong Master, healer, and author of The Master Key: Qigong Secrets for Vitality, Love, and Wisdom book/cd/dvd series.

Robert was born and raised in Hunan, China. At age eight, he began an intensive apprenticeship under the close guidance of the legendary monk Xiao Yao, an enlightened master known for his profound healing ability and martial arts skill.

At age fifteen, Robert performed a 100-day water fast in a small dark room at a secluded monastery in the remote mountains of Hunan province. He underwent a radical spiritual transformation and awakened amazing healing powers.

Master Xiao Yao encouraged Robert to develop his healing skills by studying with other Chinese masters. He pursued his training quietly while attending university in Changsha where he majored in English Literature. When he was twenty-nine years old, he began to teach publicly, and within five years he had trained over 150,000 students all over China.  In 1997, Robert was invited to relocate to Australia. Seven years later, he moved to New York City.

Robert was a guest on A Better World TV when he first arrived in NYC and the two have been friends ever since. Mitchell has also has had the good fortune of studying with Robert as well.

A Better World is now promoting Robert’s on-line course in which he teaches his very popular Qi-Gong course to people all over the world, Yin Jin Jing starting next week..  To learn more and to register for it, go to: https://www.penguniversity.com/?pa=2127B3020F

elgin duane green festivalMonday, Jan. 28, 7pm EST:  Mitchell’s guest this evening is internationally-renowned writer, educator, media, activist Duane Elgin.

For more than three decades, he has defined the cutting edge in consciousness research, in the ecology movement, and in future studies. He pioneered the “Voluntary Simplicity” movement with his now classic book, titled by the same name, published in the 1980s.

The book provided an exploration of the practical and philosophical meaning of simplicity, as well as a comprehensive overview of the precarious ecological predicament of our planet. His current activist agenda is to transform the media, particularly television, which he sees as our greatest environmental risk factor because violent and materialistic programming has a devastating effect on human consciousness and behavior. Elgin has co-founded three non-profit organizations concerned with media accountability.

In addition to his famous Voluntary Simplicity: Toward a Way of Life That Is Outwardly Simple, Inwardly Rich(1981), Elgin is the author of several other books, including Awakening Earth: Exploring the Evolution of Human Culture and Consciousness (1993), Promise Ahead: A Vision of Hope and Action for Humanity’s Future (2000), Living Legacies: How to Write, Illustrate, and Share Your Life Stories (with Colleen LeDrew, 2001), and The Living Universe: Where Are We? Who Are We? Where Are We Going? (2009).duane_elgin-640x250

Duane has worked as a senior social scientist with the think tank SRI International, where he coauthored numerous studies on the long-range future for government agencies such as the National Science Foundation.

He has also worked as a senior staff member of the joint Presidential-Congressional Commission on the American Future. He has an M.B.A. from the Wharton School, an M.A. in economic history from the University of Pennsylvania, and an honorary Ph.D. for work in “ecological and spiritual transformation” from the California Institute of Integral Studies, San Francisco, CA.

Tune in as these two thoughtful minds comb through some of the key assumptions made in today’s society, key areas of media black-out & what we can do about them. Duane was on A Better World Radio and we’re glad to now have him on A Better World TV.  Shot on location in Sebastapol, CA.

This Week’s A Better World Media
mjr in prn studio exclaiming
In this week’s Radio shows, Mitchell speaks with colleague and good friend Dr. Bruce Lipton, world-renowned cellular biologist calling in from New Zealand to discuss epigenetics, a way of understanding health, disease and personal development that has been utterly missed by medicine yet is utterly influential in every aspect of our lives.  We will also take a broader look at society, the environment and how we have despoiled our habitat, but what we can do about it.
On A Better World TV this week is one of the leading voices in media and understanding the ecological precipice on which we currently stand, Duane Elgin.  Duane has to be just one of the most interesting people ever.  His background, spanning media, politics, science, ecology, the co-founder of the Voluntary Simplicity Movement and as a member of the Evolutionary Leaders Circle, Duane brings a depth and breadth to any discussion.
2018: It’s Been a Bumpy Ride!  Are We Not (very) Ready for Smoother, Kinder, Smarter Sailing….?!  You Betcha!
evolution of manReflecting on this past year, from the environmental, social, economic, political justice points of view, I become nearly at a loss of words!  Of course, for every step forward, it appears to include 1-2 steps back.
My focus is on human evolution as stewards of our and other species and Gaia simultaneously. Within the larger landscape is of course the way we humans interact, communicate (or not), eco destruction garbagecooperate (or not),  play, work, fight, govern, create, make art, love, laugh, satirize and overall self-express.  To accomplish this, we look at social interaction, economics, politics, science, cultural expressions and on.  It’s crazy to think that in the 21st century in general, and in 2018-19 in particular, the problems and challenges we have today are virtually the same as we had literally thousands of years ago, but added to and rendered more complex by the advent of technologies, scientific breakthroughs, the vast accumulation of wealth in the hands of a very few relative to the population and on.  So the problems have been compounded and aggravated, not lessened and simplified, even though the advent of the computer was said to be able to save us time and create more leisure.  Instead, it has cost us more time.  We can do procedures faster, but now we’ve become inclined to just do more of them.
We are still dealing with the perennial, archetypal conflicts between the genders.  This has become more complex because the entire definition of gender has been subject to major review and alteration, as it becomes more ‘fluid’.  We are still dealing with prejudice between skin color, deeming some better and others lesser based on degree of coloration.
War & Peace
Yes, true, in the 21st century, humans haven’t evolved enough to transcend this utterly primitive perspective.. And surely there are economic and political forces that help to keep this alive and people polarized around such barbaric and petty matters to keep our minds off the more important ones like “Where’s the money?  We gave you trillions of tax dollars.  Where are they, whose wallets, and why?”  Or like, “why are humans waging war in the 21st century? and not settling their differences peacefully and rationally?”  If the U.S. were not perpetuating war as it does in many parts of the world, if we shifted from a war to peace economy, it would shrink instantly about 25%.  GREAT!!!!
We have geographical prejudice we to some extent, is tethered to color.  We have prejudice and judgment in respect to money and socio-economic class, “classism”, also related to “rankism”.  We have religious rancor, judgment by followers of one religion of another even though one of the tenets of most every religion is non-judgment.  Acceptance, understanding, love, compassion, patience, integrity, no stealing, violence, murder, etc. are also tenets, yet you’ll find not just a few members of virtually every religion violating these tenets.
conflictSo the problems are many, yet we have this interesting way as a species to adapt, to cooperate, to creatively and instinctively move the ball down the field through altruistic actions, attitudes and acts of kindness and generosity which bring us to a moment of reverence, inspiration and awe.
When we behold governance around the world, we see an uptick in fear-based politics, promoting divisiveness instead of unity.  We see some of the lowest behaviors and expressions of the human spirit, not dignified ones that would be exemplars for younger generations.  In short, our grandchildren are in trouble.
So in some important ways, 2018 I’d say has been a ‘bottom’ year, from which, in 2019, we’ve slightly steadied the ship for what I feel and believe will be smoother sailing.  I believe that 2019 is the year of the implementation of solutions.  Many are technological to sequester carbon and others to vastly reduce its output, as well as the other 41 greenhouse gases.  I think that social, political and economic justice’s scales are going to be better balanced.  I think that people—and Congress—are going to be stepping up and owing their/our own power and ready to make a difference.  I think we’re about to see a much-improved world. You thoughts? Agree?  Disagree?  I’d love to hear your point of view.  Email me at: mjr@abetterworld.net.
