The normal way we learn to find our identity is by going to thinking and creating a “thinker”.  This over reliance on looking to thoughts, through thoughts and from thoughts keeps us from experiencing our true nature.  There are very particular mental habit patterns that can be seen though by awareness and then thinking is returned to its natural function, as a good tool when needed.  We can learn to experience life directly through non-conceptual awake awareness.  Loch will present a series of “pointers within” to help us let go of mental orienting patterns and realize the natural wakefulness that is the source of knowing and Being.

THE REALITY OF HYDROFRACKING

Dear Friend,

In just a few days, the Delaware River Watershed, which provides drinking water to 15 million people in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware, could be opened up to the dangers of horizontal Hydraulic Fracturing (also known as fracking).

The Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC) has proposed a plan to lift a three year ban on fracking and, for the first time, allow this risky new method of gas drilling, that has already contaminated water supplies across the country.

The DRBC is meeting on November 21st to vote on the proposed regulations. Each state’s governor, along with President Obama, have a representative on the commission. We need to strongly urge them to reject this dangerous plan.

On a personal note: I know that we’re all busy & besieged with requests for actions to be taken, money to be given, to support values, humane practices and earth-friendly ones.  We’ve got our hands full. Try calling your company A Better World!

Yet, when the ‘rubber meets the road’ as they say, if we do not act on behalf of each other and Mother Earth Herself, by protecting our water from further potential contamination offered by fracturing shale down deep into the womb of Mother Earth with hundreds of toxic chemicals just for some gas, it doesn’t seem like a very good deal, and our own health and that of generations to follow will be seriously jeopardized.  Why go there?  Aren’t things already challenging enough? All of our years of good intentions, prayers, meditating, teaching and all will “go down the drain”….if we cannot protect that most precious resource, biological imperative, “Water”, for millions upon millions of people.

Join me please in signing this petition and whatever other action you can take to influence Gov. Cuomo’s decision, “to frack or not to frack”.  (It seems absurd and insane to me that our future health should be in the hands of one person, and a politician at that, but that’s another story we’ll “occupy” another time  But, wherever we live in the country (or world), this decision influences everybody. As Rev. Jesse Jackson said, “We may have come over here originally in different boats, but we all in the same boat now!”
