San Francisco, California … Partnerships For Change, is an international non-profit which has sponsored the documentary and is supporting the release of the highly acclaimed and social media sensation Miss Representation.

“When I was working with Ms. Siebel Newsom early on in the project I knew she was onto documenting a deep wound in our society. It was through Newsom’s research and interviews that she was able to bring forward the long held practices of corporate advertisers and the media who endlessly promote sexist images of girls and women. These portrayals not only harms women’s lives, character, and potential it is reinforcing these stereotypes for the next generation of girls and boys.  The time has come to create a community of individuals forwarding a movement of positive media representation of women in TV, film and the media.” Jackie Miller, President and CEO of Partnerships For Change, announced when she saw the completed project.

Partnerships For Change’s mission is based in education and action and is leading the charge to promote the empowered realities of women’s and girls lives in India, Africa, Cambodia, and here in the US.  As consumers of mass culture, products, and television, women hold the lion share of purchasing power.  There is action women can take today to end this onslaught of limitations and lies about the realities of women and girls daily lives.

The Fifth Annual Horizons: Perspectives on Psychedelics conference will be held in New York City.

Horizons takes a reasoned, scientific approach to the renaissance in psychedelics as medicine and the role of psychedelic drugs in culture, history, spirituality, and creativity.  This important gathering is hosted annually by the landmarked Judson Memorial Church on Washington Square Park on the NYU campus.  Horizons is the only event of it’s kind on the East Coast and as curator and MC, I’m personally asking for your help in sharing this email with your friends and social networks.

The Fifth Annual Horizons psychedelic science conference will kick off this Friday night 10-14 at the church, with Auditorium, an art reception and loft party of inspired music, immersive eight-channel sound, enchanting lighting, surreal décor, and mountains of pillows.  We will continue with a full speaker roster Saturday and Sunday, 10/15-16, including:
