Just a Few Words About this Week’s Programs at A Better World and This Week at The White House
By pure coincidence, or rather, I believe, ‘Divine Synchronicity”, this week’s guests were individually scheduled on A Better World without plan, but yet the work of each wholly overlap with the other’s, to the extent that Hazel Henderson is on the Board of Center for Sustainability and Excellence.
The work of both guest’s organizations represent a good part of the heart and soul of A Better World. The values represented by a renewable energy economy are those that respect and honor the Earth. Setting business back on a track of being sustainable, honorable and humane in all of its business practices and principles of zero-waste, humane treatment of employees and putting service, planet and people before profit. I am pleased and honored to have Hazel Henderson and Nikos Avlonas as guests this week on A Better World and TV and Radio–if their respective work were to be wholly implemented in the business world, we would truly have a better world.
At the other extreme is what was being issued as executive orders at The White House: flagrant disrespect of human beings through the travel ban order which is being contested throughout the country. There are other offensive executive orders which have been driving people to the streets of all colors and stripes, and what has amounted to some 55 law suits filed against the new President Trump. When Obama entered office, he had 5 suits filed against him and GW Bush 4. This gives us some measure of the egregiousness of the actions of this President in comparison to the prior two.
The nominations for cabinet positions of arguably the most incompetent and inexperienced people for the positions for which they’ve been nominated are enough in themselves to bring tremendous doubt as to the competence of the President himself. How can you nominate someone to be head of the EPA who has sued them 14 times and has virtually called for its demolition? Or a former governor and Presidential candidate who forgot the name of the agency he said he wanted to dissolve and has now been nominated to run it? These are but two examples of many of just how foolish, immoral and self-interested the current Administration is. Some are saying that we are really being governed by white supremacist President Bannon.
