Mark Goldes is Chairman of Magnetic Power Inc. (MPI) in Sebastopol, California. Earlier, he founded SunWind Ltd. and began the non-profit Aesop Institute. Once a student of Electrical Engineering, he earned BA and MA degrees at San Francisco State University, and later served two years on active duty with the USAF, culminating as a Senior Director of the Berlin Corridor control radar in Germany.
Afterwards, from 1956 thru 1958, he earned a second Master’s degree and was a Fellow in the Graduate Program in the History of Ideas, at Brandeis University. In 1960, he founded Emerson College of the Monterey Peninsula, and later initiated the free university movement, which spread to at least 600 locations worldwide.
Today, Mark is involved in developing leading-edge energy technologies, one of which can help to neutralize the threat and effect of solar flares.
The issue of solar flares, combined with the enormous presence of nuclear plants across the U.S., Europe and elsewhere, the existence of nuclear arsenals across the planet along with the precipitous geology and consequences of Global Warming on our oceans and weather patterns, dwarf other issues, political, social and economic, we are facing as a globe.
What matters now is coherent, cooperative thinking and preparatory action as a collective, to seek to minimize potential harm and preserve the planet with all of Her sentient life as best we can.
This interview will address some of these issues so please join us.

I was reminded of Mr. Goldes while reading this article on solar flares on ENENEWS:

Yes, thanks for your comments. We cannot emphasize enough the potential danger these flares could incite, while also bearing in mind, just as with Y2K, we may simply roll into another day. But to be prepared, personally as well as collectively/the grid, is vitally important.
