Tell Congress to Oppose the Dietary Supplement Labeling Act The Dietary Supplement Labeling Act has been introduced in the Senate. The bill instead targets supplements and supplement manufacturers, exploiting a hot-button food issue to try to pass more regulation for dietary supplements. Moreover, almost all of its provisions are already covered by existing law. There is no need for any new legislation; the only need is for existing laws to be fully enforced.

And as the world as we know it crumbles and the Divine Hand of Justice sweeps across the land, as there is so much suffering for so many reasons on so many levels, there is a peace that permeates some that is born out of love, appreciation and respect for the Creation. The sadness in my heart for the suffering so many are going through right now as the economy is slipping out of control, so many wars are being waged world-wide and chaotic emotions are gripping the hearts of so many people who cannot feed their own children, gives rise to my sending large volumes of chi-carrying-love across the planet, love-missives, to the hearts of sentient beings. It may not ‘seem’ to the ordinary view like much, and food and water remain amply needed everywhere, make no mistake, but this spiritual nutrition of love and compassion, expressed through the ethers, the “invisible realm”, is vital to the life of our souls. The life here at I.D.E.A.L., the teachings of Aivanov and the wise words of Sister Natacha, broadcast these subtle points from the larger perspective, quite clearly. Make no mistake,the words and intent of our thoughts, hearts and souls speak loudly, speak their truth and are heard on the inner planes as they reach their desired destinations.
The way a good deal of communication takes place here, and a way love is spread the way shooting a beam from a flashlight pointed upward sends light, the I.D.E.A.L. community sings incredible music. Each morning begins with prayers, blessings and singing. What a beautiful way to start and celebrate the day. This isn’t rock n’ roll or even jazz; these are often ancient melodies, some from largely forgotten languages, which stir the soul. When I sit in the temple in the mornings, and the brothers and sisters sing often conducted by the baton of their musical director, Gilles Hainault, I feel my heart and soul rising in my chest. The sensations are exquisite and you can only imagine that this is in part what God had in mind when the human nervous system and heart were developed so that joy could permeate us. I may be too sensitive because my whole being is cellularly elevated in my listening, my attention acutely fixed on both the sound and the silence, my body absorbing the vibration of the music through every pore and gland. I’ve heard it said that the word “hormone” derives etymologically from the ancient Greek “harmein” which is related to the word “harmony”. So indeed, our bodies and hormones become harmonized in the face of powerfully beautiful music. And this music is the result of a group of people who are committed to their own emotional, psychological and spiritual development. Years of refinement have led, like the finest bottle of wine, to an exquisite bouquet of sound, deep, rich and nourishing.

It’s so wild–we are living our lives, enjoying them, struggling with them, dealing with the ebb and flow, the ups and downs, the call to center and authenticity which is the process of daily life itself. It’s bumpy, harry, messy, sad, happy, clear, cloudy and anyone honest with themselves is a weave of numerous feelings, emotions, thoughts and ideas daily. The Way of the Psyche: A Story within a Story
The first story is that I was invited to a friend’s orthodox shabbos dinner in the Monsey, NY area. He has invited me many a time but my schedule has been such that it just hasn’t been feasible for me to go. We’ve been out of touch for most of this year, he invited me again, telling me that there was a special rabbi staying with him that he would like me to meet. I quickly thought through my obligations for Saturday and I saw that if I had to stay through sundown (no cars to be driven until then), this would actually be a good weekend and so, uncharacteristically for me, I said yes. I couldn’t find a car, so I took the Monsey Coach up, surrounded in a sea of skullcaps! Already I felt that I was entering “another world”, both familiar and very different, oddly, at the same time.
I stood at the NW corner of 42nd & 8th Ave. waiting for the bus for which I arrived 15 minutes early, and it came 15 minutes late, so because it was so noisy, I stepped up onto the steps of a little theater there where it was a decibel quieter and called my girlfriend. We laughed uproariously as usual and then the bus came, I ascended, and off I went off into the embrace of my friends, the Rabbi, and his wife and the entire michpucha.
I’m not going to go into detail about my experience except to say that it was exceptionally rich in Spirit and friendship. I experienced some of the joy I did when I was in Israel at a Yeshiva there in 1989, to which I was invited by surprise by a rabbi from New Haven as I approached the Wailing Wall. It was an extraordinary experience which I’ll write up another time.
The sense of family, tradition, Divine Warmth, was all present in the shul and my friend’s home. I was warmly welcomed, we laughed, we sang, and at moments, I wanted to cry both from joy and from contemplating the way Jews have been treated for so long by so many during the course of history. One of the stories told was about the Rabbi’s wife’s grandfather, who with others was lined up in Lithuania during the holocaust and shot point blank, then buried in the ditch right before them, in cold blood. It was so devastating a story, I had no way to really digest it. So it got marginalized at the edges of consciousness, awaiting further review, in this life or the next–the further into the future it goes, the better.
But God had another plan for me. The sacred celebrations of Shabbat ended, the sun set, the final prayers were said and I was on my way back to the Big Apple after a very rich experience. Unkown to me, I was being prepared for what was about to come the very next day.
On that very next day, my good friend, David Katzmire, web Elf and founder of Kalarhythms, had invited me, and in turn me Sharmilla, to a theater piece, off-off Broadway that his friend, Franco Moschetti, had written, produced and directed. We were searching for the theater on 42nd St., around 8th Ave., I thought it was one place, it wasn’t, and when we actually looked at the address, it ended up to be the exact theater on which steps I was standing just a day and a half before while waiting for the bus to Munsey. I had never noticed that little theater in all the years I’ve lived in NY, yet here I am ‘visiting’ it twice in a single weekend.
We went in, sat down, and were suddenly transported to a scene in Nazi Germany wherein an SS officer was having an af
fair with a German woman, and in the same apt. building was a cell of members of the Jewish Resistance. The play, When Yellow Were the Stars on Earth, explored the relationships between these characters in depth, it was heart-wrenching, and the female lover’s brother at one point returns from the Russian front absolutely frantic and out of his mind with a mixture of profound grief and rage, having borne witness to the murder of a large group of Jewish children who were shot at point-blank range and thrown into a ditch.
The shock of exactly the same kind of story I had just heard from people I personally knew resounded inside me–there was no escaping or marginalizing, nor denying this time; there was just pure pain and sadness at the low ebbs of the human psyche and condition. I sat in the theater tearing as I watched the scene dramatized before me. Franco Moschetti skillfully hit a spot in the human psyche that makes people bleed in their hearts from pain, yet at the same time, a Jewish woman and the SS officer’s German lover well, I don’t want to say more now in case you get the golden opportunity to see it, but just to say, there is the low ebb and the high triumph of the human spirit. We need to remember that both co-exist in the human being and to the extent that we can call upon the higher nature of ourselves, we will be forging a new future and a better world.
So I visited the theater twice, and had no idea that was in the making. I visited the story of the ditch twice, once as a true story, the next as a fictionalized version though based on a true story, and dramatized, with heart-piercing impact.
So the psyche works, weaving a story within a story. Even though the holocaust happened now some 70 years ago, the heart doesn’t forget and remembering the horror can help us to appreciate the beauty of relative peace, respect for other and the power of compassion.

The Greening of America Behind the Scenes
If you listen to the rhetoric on TV or in the newspapers, you wouldn’t learn about the steps big companies are taking to lower their energy costs and in fact, taking significant measures to reduce their and their suppliers’ carbon footprint.
What? Are you saying that the Fortune 500′s, those companies, such as Walmart and others, are seriously weighing in on the intelligence of energy efficiency and the climate change scientists? You bet they are. They don’t care a wit for the GW Bush interpretation of Climate Change Reality (being the noted thinker and scientist that he is…), or a bit about the standard Republican ruse that Climate Change is just is nothing but a bizarre Gore(y) fantasy. Apparently there aren’t Republican Congresspersons who live in the 30 of 50 states that have seen extreme weather patterns, from drought to flooding over the past few years, or the heat waves just this past year responsible for some 65 deaths in this country alone.
Reality aside, it makes good business sense, as I’ve been saying since the 1980′s, to live as though Climate Change were real and that human beings have a lot to do with it, even if you don’t believe it. So belief isn’t the key, but actions are. And many of the Fortune 500′s have come to see that “living as though” has saved them tens, and in some cases, hundreds of millions of dollars. So much so that many, like Walmart, are insisting that their entire supply chain also “go green” and requiring them to assess their carbon footprint. If it isn’t below a certain threshold, the purse strings are pulled in and offered to another company that qualifies.
Ray Anderson, founder and chairman of Interface, Inc., the world’s largest manufacturer of modular carpet that is environmentally-friendly, who went to hear Paul Hawken years back, is known as one of the first to move from “standard business-as-usual”, that is, “pollute and don’t look back and hope you don’t get caught–and if you do, just pay the fines and bury the story”, to a wholly eco-friendly, energy-efficient operation. Part of that was that he educated his suppliers of what he was doing, they ‘caught on’ and in turn, saved themselves and the environment a bundle.
This is the world we’re moving into, insisting on and creating. It uses logic, science, common sense at its base and sound economic reasoning instead of old-world belief systems that haven’t been updated yet, sort of like some old software.
So while things appear dismal when one opens to just the standard media and listens to how the economy is getting worse, you can take heart in this week’s radio show, live or in archive, which will educate us about what’s really going on ‘behind-the-scenes’ when it comes to bold initiatives in business that are ‘getting the message’ of how important–and economical–it is to be energy-efficient and to adopt sustainability as a policy in one’s company (government) and as a value.

With What Color to Paint the Picture?
What we’re dealing with again, as we have so many times in history, is crisis. Humans are abusing each other in some pretty horrific ways. Now we can paint the picture any way we want to. We can say “they know not what they do” and find a tender spot in our hearts to understand and forgive ignorance, lack of education consciousness or conscience, or we can get huffy, hurt or indignantly outraged. Or a little of each.
No matter, we’re still left with a choice to make of how we deal with, address the experience of bearing witness to one human physically hurting another, or being excessively negative toward another. And remember, the background of it all is this magnificent stage of Mother Nature, watching all of her creatures attempt to co-exist and cooperate, yet to some extent, being obliged to eat one another, whether it’s the plant or animal kingdoms being consumed by other plants or animals. Or by fungi for that matter.
At the end of the day, we’re happy to be alive. All the hurt, the misunderstanding between people, the exploitation of Nature’s resources and on, has been going on since humans have been on the planet. There is in the mix of the human community those that seek to contribute and make a difference to the overall well-being of others, be it on the level of personal relationships, family, village, or the larger body of humanity. And there are those who are looking to simply take advantage of others for their own benefit, often at the expense of others. And we get to pick which way of relating we want to manifest. And some do a little of each. Some say we’re born fixed in one direction or another but that seems a bit narrow to me, not rich with possibility.
But it is we who paints the picture, we who fills the teacup and we who gives or taketh away. And no matter how we wake up in the morning, happy or gloomy, we again have the choice to ‘change’ the channel, as Richard Bandler of NLP fame used to say in our classes with him many moons ago. Concentrating on the process is the goal. And not that achieving a goal isn’t of value, surely it is, but who when we claim the prize is every bit as important.
We humans tend to be emotional creatures a lot more than anything else. We get hurt, insulted, pained rather easily and shut down when it comes to communicating. We are largely controlled by our life’s circumstances and have little equipoise within. As a result, we are more like bouncing ping-pong balls, happy one minute and irritated the next. There’s little inner mooring so we swing like pendulums, from one polarity to another. No wonder our world looks the way it does.
I just interviewed Lillian Firestone for the TV show–just a few weeks ago she was on the radio show speaking about raising children in the Gurdjieff Work. One of the main beauties of this Work is that the children are encouraged to be independent and creative, to clean, to cook, to invent. The final goal is secondary to the process of invention and inner resourcefulness getting to the goal. What a healthy perspective for raising children. This Gurdjieffian view is incredibly life-supporting. And when people go against it, or their word, suffering ensues.
Werner Erhard used to suggest that most suffering is a result of people breaking their word, to others and to themselves. If we could effectively remediate this single aspect of the human psyche, the world would change rather immediately.
Think of it: politicians not able to lie? That in itself would bring an integrity to the game that has been missing but pretending to be there for centuries. In personal relationships? Some would become radically more enjoyable because the suppression of truth was let go. These are some of the tenets of the world-being-built right now as the current one collapses. It is the Phoenix, and the new world, a better world, rising from its ashes.

It’s so obvious that government has become a killing machine for hire, and the American People’s interest was subordinated, or I should say, forgotten about, long ago. Balancing Heaven & Earth: A Lifetime or Two of Work & Play
When you look at Spaceship Earth, as Buckminster Fuller wisely called it, from above, such as the famous Apollo Mission’s photos (A Better World’s logo), the Earth is this gorgeous ball of blue with some wispy-colored movement throughout. From the lunar or solar positions, it is a ball, in one case larger, and the of course, much smaller.
When using another lens, such as the closer view of a microscope, one begins to see the plant life, the sea life and the animal life. It all looks rather harmonious and certainly beautiful until we begin to zero in on a particular species of the animal life, loosely referred to as homo sapiens in one of its planet’s older languages, suggests “knowing” or “wise man”. But is this an accurate appellation? The species’ history does not seem to support this idea. Since his appearance some 200,000 years ago, he has been somewhat of a trickster and trouble-maker. The first 100,000 years as he was adapting, we have no extant records or much of an oral tradition of what his life was like on Earth. But the next 100,000 years, especially the last 1,000, he has been the source of much killing of others and his own species. There were some extraordinary cultural developments over this time, but almost always accompanied by widespread murder call war and oppression of large masses of its own species by a small group of the same species that would ‘lord’ power over the others through numerous means. Over the past 500 years or so, this lording and oppression has increased dramatically and to the point today where it has virtually reached its breaking point. Remember that simultaneous to much of the oppression, there was an impulse toward creativity, harmonizing with Nature internally and externally, and an interest in a burgeoning consciousness which rather naturally identified patterns everywhere it looked. As a result, a huge number of texts were recorded in different parts of the world, outlining calendars based on lunar, solar and stellar positions, sciences emerged involving the manipulation of materials as well of internal energies (alchemy). Intellectual and cultural advances took place throughout thousands of years which, to modern homo sapiens, remain extraordinarily impressive and useful. Credit is to be given to this species for extraordinary achievements, even though it most always seemed to do so while dragging its feet when it came to overall kindness, compassion and equality in all matters with which it dealt in living with its fellow humans.
As we continue to zero in on the particulars of today, we see the same basic themes: extraordinary intellectual achievement, development of technologies, right alongside the most inhumane practices found in its governing corporate/business bodies.
So we are, as we’ve always been, positioned to balance the heavenly with the Earthly and come out at even, at some balance. The faces and names change, but the kinds of undermining, secretive, arrogantly aggressive, self-righteous though self-serving behaviors continue on. Learning to live in harmony with the environment and with our own species remains the biggest challenge homo sapiens has ever encountered and it has made minimal progress over time.
If we were to know how to work consciously on our emotional reactivity, to examine our attitudes and behaviors as much as each other’s, and we knew that play and rest are absolutely as vital as work, we could balance the energies between Heaven & Earth with love, compassion and understanding for each other. Along with these of course, is respect and appreciation. With these, we are inclined to want to create a better world for all, instead of just for a few. We could begin to fulfill what you’d imagine God had in mind when we were said to have been made in His/Her image. I doubt if it were that we all be selfish and hurt one another; but much more likely, that we be kind, appreciative, respectful and generous in heart, attitude and action. Wouldn’t you imagine?!
This week’s radio and TV shows and the guests I have on, exemplify these points. Each guest, in his and her own way, is calling for us, as a species, to pay high-alert attention to issues that threaten to disrupt eco-biological order, system and human society itself. Drs. J.J. and Desiree Hurtak have just returned from an extended trip from Japan to Germany and Poland, meeting with scientists and giving lectures about how we may walk more lightly on this ground and contaminate it less with our every step. Dr. Ervin Laszlow, has been sounding this trumpet for many decades as President of the Club of Budapest and as a consultant to governments world-wide.
This week on A Better World, listeners and viewers will be able to take a look at ourselves from the point of view of our species and begin to take responsibility for the outcomes we are creating, then shift them to accord with a greater call in our hearts to a higher level of the species called being “humane” and balanced when it comes to our relationship to our beautiful Mother Earth. With What Color to Paint the Picture?
What we’re dealing with again, as we have so many times in history, is crisis. Humans are abusing each other in some pretty horrific ways. Now we can paint the picture any way we want to. We can say “they know not what they do” and find a tender spot in our hearts to understand and forgive ignorance, lack of education consciousness or conscience, or we can get huffy, hurt or indignantly outraged. Or a little of each
No matter, we’re still left with a choice to make of how we deal with, address the experience of bearing witness to one human physically hurting another, or being excessively negative toward another. And remember, the background of it all is this magnificent stage of Mother Nature, watching all of her creatures attempt to co-exist and cooperate, yet to some extent, being obliged to eat one another, with it’s the plant or animal kingdoms being consumed by other plants or animals. Or by fungi for that matter.
At the end of the day, we’re happy to be alive. All the hurt, the misunderstanding between people, the exploitation of Nature’s resources and on, has been going on since humans have been on the planet. There is in the mix of the human community those that seek to contribute and make a difference to the overall well-being of others, be it on the level of personal relationships, family, village, or the larger body of humanity. And there are those who are looking to simply take advantage of others for their own benefit, often at the expense of others. And we get to pick which way of relating we want to manifest. And some do a little of each. Some say we’re born fixed in one direction or another but that seems a bit narrow to me, not rich with possibility.
But it is we who paints the picture, we who fills the teacup and we who gives or taketh away. And no matter how we wake up in the morning, happy or gloomy, we again have the choice to ‘change’ the channel, as Richard Bandler of NLP fame used to say in our classes with him many moons ago. Concentrating on the process is the goal. And not that achieving a goal isn’t of value, surely it is, but who we are to claim the prize is every bit as important.
We humans tend to be emotional creatures a lot more than anything else. We get hurt, insulted, pained rather easily and shut down when it comes to communicating. We are largely controlled by our life’s circumstances and have little equipoise within. As a result, we are more like bouncing ping-pong balls, happy one minute and irritated the next. There’s little inner mooring so we swing like pendulums, from one polarity to another. No wonder our world looks the way it does.
I just interviewed Lillian Firestone for the TV show–just a few weeks ago she was on the radio show speaking about raising children in the Gurdjieff Work. One of the main beauties of this Work is that the children are encouraged to be independent and creative, to clean, to cook, to invent. The final goal is secondary to the process of invention and inner resourcefulness getting to the goal. What a healthy perspective for raising children. True or False? Can we Tell the Difference, & Belief Systems: Going Once, Going Twice…

If the commercial TV media tell the truth about ‘Big Pharma’, they will lost perhaps 70% of their advertising revenue. If the military contractors/media conglomerates speak too harshly about the truth of war, the casualties to both our own and to innocent civilians, that billions and trillions of dollars are being spent pre-, during and post-war, hell would break lose and Americans would demand an end to the madness. So they periodically report that there are wars going on, but rather quickly and just in passing, without too much gruesome, honest detail. Who needs it?

I was watching Good Night, Good Luck again recently, the story of journalist Ed Morrow and his reportage and critique of Senator Joe McCarthy at the time. Fascinating to see how the news has changed and how the TV stations willingness to really speak truth to power has muted. The whole trajectory of what news reportage has become has not only muted but has become moot. News is entertainment folks! and is predicated on ratings. Truthful reporting just has no place in the hierarchy, until or unless you turn to alternative news, such as you’ll find on Progressive Radio Network, Pacifica Radio, Free Speech TV, Link TV and of course, on A Better World. We aren’t really a news show as such, though we comment on and dialogue about items in the news to elucidate aspects of human nature and how to address, then transform parts of it.
Now what’s going on is our belief systems and assumptions are being challenged across the board. What modern medicine has taught us, rather, programmed us to ‘believe’ throughout the childhoods of the baby-boomers, we are finding to be largely untrue. We’ve also found much of what was framed as medically scientific was really a series of constructed deceits, designed to minimize ignorance and maximize profit. Why would a doctor talk about cigarettes as “stress reducing” on TV? Why would doctors recommend vaccines if they really understood what was in them, the effects of mercury on the body or the recommendation of chemotherapy when so much science indicates that it has very little therapeutic value?

Our belief systems are being challenged across the board, which is why this week’s shows are, from this point of view, particularly interesting. Lillian Schwabe, at age 100 is as nimble as she may have been at less than half her age, and more than most at half her age. In Christian Science, drugs, surgery, radiation, not even nutrition are the bases of the healing. The mind, heart and soul are united in faith, in imagery in commitment to health and God’s will for healing. How interesting! and it has worked countless times at this point, since Mary Baker Eddy came up with it in the late 19th century. So talk about belief systems changing or a paradigm shift occurring. Can you imagine if millions of people believed and practiced this, what would happen to our healthcare system?! Want to change things? Change your beliefs.
And to continue the metaphor, Lynne McTaggart’s work, in a different way but wholly analogously, helps us to shift paradigms and shake up/revise belief systems as well. Our entire sense of Self can be wonderfully disrupted when you read any of her work, from The Field, to The Bond, because life ‘ain’t’ what we thought it to be. It is actually a good deal richer! More chockful of potential! But to get this, you must leave your old beliefs at the door and enter empty-handed.
So I invite you all to tune in Monday eve. to hear Lillian Schwabe and I, and Tuesday evening to watch Lynne and I, in both cases, wholly disrupting the ordinary view of what life is and what’s possible. And bring it closer to probable. Both are special, intelligent and gifted women and it is my honor to get to know them and spend time.
Meanwhile, in order to survive on our lovely planet, if there are massive belief system changes rather immediately, our survival may be at stake.
